Large Animal Veterinarian and Practice Owner
Dr. Amy Dahlke graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in
2014. Following graduation, she began her career at Northern Veterinary Services in
Grantsburg, Wisconsin, where she practiced for two years before joining Anderson Veterinary
Service. Since then, she has become an integral member of the AVS team, known for her
dedication, attention to detail, and nurturing approach to patient care. She is an active member
of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), American Veterinary Medical
Association (AVMA), American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), and American
Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners (AASRP).
Dr. Amy has a true passion for both cattle and small ruminant medicine. She particularly enjoys
calf care, working with sheep and goats, and the unique challenges of small ruminant health
and management. One of her greatest joys in practice is delivering live babies—whether calves,
kids, or lambs—and sharing in those rewarding moments with producers. She also values the
opportunity to make herd management recommendations that lead to healthier animals and
improved productivity on farms, finding deep fulfillment in seeing those positive results come
to life.
Beyond her veterinary career, Dr. Amy is deeply rooted in agriculture. She and her husband
Chris and their 2 daughters raise and show registered Suffolk sheep on their farm, where she
applies her professional knowledge to her own flock. Her family farm is not only a source of
pride but also a space where her veterinary and personal passions meet.
Outside of work and farming, Dr. Amy enjoys spending time with her family, camping in the
western United States, and exploring the mountains. Whether she is working alongside
producers, raising her own animals, or enjoying the outdoors with her family, Dr. Dahlke values
the balance of hard work, family life, and time spent outdoors.
Dr. Amy’s blend of professional expertise, agricultural roots, and compassionate care makes her
a trusted partner to both her clients and her community.
