Dr Janna Bauer, DVM

Large Animal Veterinarian and Practice Owner

Dr. Janna Bauer graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in2018. After earning her DVM, she began her career in western Wisconsin, where she practiced for two years before joining Anderson Veterinary Service in 2020. With seven years of veterinary experience, including five at AVS, Dr. Bauer has built strong relationships with producers and clients in the community. She is an active member of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP).

Dr. Janna has a particular passion for dairy medicine and enjoys the opportunity to work with dairy producers each day. Her professional interests include calf health and management as well as milk quality. She finds great reward in helping producers make practical changes that result in healthier calves, improved milk quality, and more efficient herd performance. For Dr. Janna, one of the most fulfilling parts of veterinary medicine is knowing that her recommendations can directly improve both animal well-being and farm success.

Outside of her veterinary career, Dr. Janna leads a busy and fulfilling life with her family. She and her husband, Eric, are proud parents to three children—Henry, Wyatt, and Kathryn—who keep them on their toes and bring joy to their days. Together, they enjoy spending time outdoors, whether skiing in the winter, running, traveling, or simply enjoying family time at home.

For Dr. Janna, veterinary medicine is not just a profession but also a way to connect with people, improve animal health, and support the agricultural community she values. She thrives on the variety her work offers, the relationships she builds with producers, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference on farms throughout the region.

Dr. Janna’s commitment to dairy medicine, her strong connection to clients, and her dedication to animal health make her an invaluable part of the AVS veterinary team.
