Small Animal Veterinary Technician
Roberta Callahan is a small animal veterinary technician at Anderson Veterinary Service. With a career spanning several decades, she has served in many roles—including Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) and Hospital Director—bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to the team. Over the years, Roberta has worked at Vetsmart, Chaska Valley Veterinary Clinic, Olivia Pet Clinic, Fairfax Veterinary Clinic, and Mayo Clinic as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT ASCP). She is a 1994 graduate of the Medical Institute of Minnesota.
Roberta’s greatest attribute is her deep compassion—for both the animals she cares for and the clients who love them. She finds the most rewarding part of her job in client education, giving pet owners the tools they need to help their animals live healthy, thriving lives. She especially enjoys lab work and diagnostics, where careful testing and interpretation often unlock the answers needed for a correct diagnosis.
Outside of work, Roberta enjoys hiking, walking, reading, gardening, and caring for her sheep, cats, and dogs. She treasures time spent with her children and values the balance between her career in veterinary medicine and life at home.
If she could be anywhere other than the clinic, Roberta would happily be spending time with her kids—or sneaking a peek at a really good blood smear.
