Sakya Gorden first joined Anderson Veterinary Service as a summer intern in 2023 and again in 2025, stepping into her current role as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. She brings both small and large animal experience, having previously worked at Port Orchard Animal Clinic in Washington, and is currently pursuing her degree in Animal Science – Pre-Vet at the University of Minnesota.
As the second oldest of four sisters, Sakya is no stranger to teamwork and responsibility—qualities that shine through in her work at AVS. She enjoys the variety her role brings and loves helping both people and their animals. While she has a passion for all species, she especially enjoys working with dairy and beef cattle, as well as small animals.
Outside of the clinic, Sakya enjoys camping, spending time on the lake, and being with her family. She shares her life with two loyal dogs—Busch, a black lab, and Reba, a German shepherd—who are always up for an adventure. If she could be anywhere other than work, you’d likely find her with her dogs by her side, making memories with family.
Sakya’s enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication to learning make her a valued member of the AVS
team as she continues her journey toward a future in veterinary medicine.
